In Group H, Cape Verde made history with a goalless draw against Saudi Arabia. The West African island nation finished second in the group with three points after three matches, ranking above former champions Uruguay.
In their first time reaching the World Cup knockout stage, Cape Verde face the ultimate challenge in Argentina. The defending world champions won both of their opening matches thanks to the stellar performance of Lionel Messi and are guaranteed to top Group J regardless of the result of their match against Jordan tomorrow, June 28.

In the round of 32, Messi will return to Miami, where he has resided since moving to MLS. The match between Argentina and Cape Verde will take place at 5:00 on July 4.
Also in Group H, Spain defeated Uruguay to take the top spot and will face the runner-up of Group J in the next match. La Roja's victory also indirectly helped Group D's third-placed team Paraguay officially qualify for the knockout stage, as confirmed by FIFA. The South American representative has four points after three matches in Group D with a goal difference of -2.
In the round of 32, Paraguay will face Germany at 3:30 AM on June 30. The four-time world champions have six points thanks to victories over Ivory Coast and Curacao, securing the top spot in Group E with one match to spare.
The ninth matchup confirmed in the knockout stage is Australia vs. Egypt, after the African representative finished second in Group G. Egypt drew 1-1 with Iran in a match where they escaped defeat in the final minutes, as Iran's goal was disallowed for offside. Iran finished third with three points and a goal difference of 0, and must still wait for the results of the remaining groups. Meanwhile, Group G leaders Belgium have not yet determined their opponent in the round of 32.
Heading into the final round of the remaining three groups (J, K, L), 28 teams have secured their spots in the knockout stage. The remaining matchups of the round of 32 will be finalized after the final groups are completed.
