Before being bought out, Abdelkarim signed with the Barca Atletic Reserve - the team competed at the fourth division of Spanish football, but some were caught up in the procedure that made him unable to go to the field for this team. The Egyptian predecessor had to wait until March before the U19 debut.
Abdelkarim scored right in the first game to meet Huesca, then set up hat-trick into the UD Montecarlo net. Even so, the predecessor also underwent two defeats in finals in Barca Athletics, before Real Betis at the Young King's Cup and before Real Madrid in Copa de Campones.

Abdelkarim once developed in the young football system in Malaysia. He started playing football at the age of 8 in the Little League Soccer system before wearing FC Kuala Lumpur. In 2016, this predecessor contributed to the team winning the first KL Cup championship in the history of the tournament.
In 2020, Abdelkarim passed the Draft to join Al Ahly Academy. In 1/2025, when he was only 17 years old, he was first called to the 1st squad for the Battle of Pharco at the Egyptian League of NGG. Despite the outfields, the decision of the Al Ahly coach still received a lot of praise from the pros.
On 6/2/2025, Abdelkarim played his first professional game on the field replacing Emam Ashour at the end of the Petrojet 2-1 win. This landmark helped him to become the youngest player in Al Ahly's jacket in the 21st century, crossing Ramadan Sobhi's previous record with a distance of 9 days.
After the dramatic debut, Abdelkarim quickly attracted interest from Europe. But early in 2026, this predecessor extended its contract with Al Ahly to 2028, before switching to Barca.
