Since youth, Brobbey seen as special talent for Ajax and Netherlands youth teams. Won U17 European Championship twice in 2018 and 2019.

Coaches at Ajax academy often note Brobbey rare physicality. Former player John Heitinga described him having speed, strength, and great jumping power as teen. Fans nickname him "Brobbeast" - mix of Brobbey and "beast".

Age 18, Brobbey joined Ajax first team. First career turn went bad. Advised by late agent Mino Raiola, young striker refused contract extension, moved to RB Leipzig for free. Ajax fans angered, felt player betrayed youth club.

Soon, Brobbey got ultimatum demanding 170,000 USD, warning gang knew home address. Het Parool newspaper reported Brobbey refused to pay. Mastermind arrested, convicted of attempted murder, weapon possession, and 1.6 kg MDMA.

Only after 170,000 USD demand did Ajax learn striker lived in fear for year. Club offered full support, but Brobbey chose to handle it alone, refused police cooperation.

Summer 2025, Brobbey joined Sunderland for $28 million total fee. Scored 7 goals in 31 Premier League matches. "Feel matured a lot at Sunderland. Met new people, got new experiences, learned much," he said after Sweden win.

1.81 m tall but muscular with low center of gravity, Brobbey dangerous in duels. Ball shielding, hold-up play, acceleration draw comparisons to Belgium's Romelu Lukaku.

Greatest strength: turning harmless long passes into dangerous chances. Opening goal against Sweden showed this. Received long ball, controlled, laid off for teammate on wing, ran into box to finish.

Cody Gakpo revealed this tactical plan prepared by Netherlands. Even coach Ronald Koeman, who criticized finishing before, changed view. "Before, not in best shape. Now different. Fitness is foundation of performance," Dutch coach said.

Experts agree. Brobbey not most technical striker, but nightmare for defenders due to strength, speed, constant pressure.

Former striker Alan Shearer said Sweden's three defenders "will have nightmares" after facing Brobbey. Swedish daily Sportbladet described him as "sprinting concrete block".

After years struggling with criticism, failure, crime, Brobbey proves greatest strength not muscles, but rising from adversity.
