Lukaku debuted Belgium in 2010 and attended six major leagues including three Euro series of 2016, 2020, 2024 and three 2014 World Cup series, 2018 and 2022. At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he won the bronze Shoes with four tables and a creation.
Lukaku currently holds a 89-game record over 124 Belgian Drafts. But before the 2026 World Cup, he changed, claiming that there was still a lot of motivation to continue to devote himself to the team.
"After this World Cup, I want to attend at least two more major Belgian leagues. The desire to compete remains intact. I want to keep going to World Cup 2030, then I'll be 37", Lukaku told the Het Nieuwsblad May 26,.

Lukaku, however, said that his condition was significantly improving. "We recently performed the speed test and I reached 35.5 km/h. The last time I was so fast was years ago," he said. "The only thing I lack is the feeling of competition. But at the national Draft, people are doing everything they can to get me back on track. There were even games that were held for me."
