If there's any surprise in this turn of the American Draft, it's the absence of the quarterback wearing Lyon, Tanner Tessmann. According to the confirmation of Chief Lyon Paulo Fonseca, Tessmann had to sit outside during the final weeks of the season due to muscle tension. The US initially expected the 24-year-old player to recover, but in the end, Pochettino chose the safe solution.
Instead of inserting Tessmann's position with another central quarterback, like Aidan Morris of Middlesbrough, Pochettino decided to call the extra Joe Scally of Monchengladbach, raising the total number of defensive players on the list to ten. To complete the public, Pochettino puts his trust in names such as Brenden Aaronson, Gio Reyna, Alejandro Zendejas and Malik Tillman, alongside the two irreplaceable stars Pulisic and Tim Weah.
Reyna's presence also stumbled over some of the undated opinions, when he had only competed for just 137 minutes after 8 outings at the National League since the beginning of 2026. However, Reyna's creative and mutant quality is the reason Pochettino decides to put his trust in this quarterback.
