"Vấn đề là liệu Roberto Martinez có được phép nói chuyện với Ronaldo và thực sự thay cậu ấy ra hay không", tạp chí Goal dẫn lời Shearer. "Ronaldo có sức ảnh hưởng lớn đến mức nếu không chấp nhận rằng anh không thể chơi mọi phút trong mọi trận đấu, mọi thứ sẽ không hiệu quả".
