In 2025, Miran made a no-paid leave after US President Donald Trump [Presidents][citation needed] (htshts ://nvnexpress.net/ong-trump-de-ci-vien-dong-dong-tong-doc-fed-4924422.html) he temporarily fills the vacant seat in the U.S. Federal Reserve Reserve Administration (Fed). At that time, Governor Adriana Kugler unexpectedly resigned, although her tenure came to an end in 1/2026.
Miran stated that he had been given legal advice that there was no need to leave his post at the White House, due to work at the Fed for just a few months. This mission, however, is taking longer than expected.
"I promised the Senate that if I remained in the Governorial Council after January, I would officially leave the White House Economic Advisory Council (CEA). I believe it's important to keep your word as you continue to take charge of the Fed that you and the Senate have approved me", Miran wrote in his resignation letter on 340.

Mr Trump on 31 January announced the nomination of former Governor Fed [Kevin Warsh] (httts ://nnitvexpress.net/ong-trump-de-de-ci-vien-chu-tich-fed-sit-sit-subome-powell-plunk64.html) as the next chairman of the Fed, followed by Mr Jerome Powell. If approved by the Senate, Warsh would take Miran's place in the Governorial Council. But until then, Miran had to keep working.
The White House has not yet made an immediate comment about whether Pierre Yared - the current CEA presidentship was appointed officially to this position.

In recent Fed policy meetings, Miran voted several times different from the general decision for wanting to reduce the stronger interest rate. Trump also did not hide the desire for the institution to reduce interest rates, and even consider the easy-core support to be one of the criteria when selecting new Fed chairman.
The Fed has recently faced many disturbances. Powell last month revealed the U.S. Department of Justice is [opening criminal investigation] (httts ://nvnexpress.net/chu-tich-fed-bi-dieu-tra-sun-su-5004455.html) with him, regarding his hearing before the Senate on the Fed headquarters renovation project. However, Powell thinks this is just an excuse to force him to lower his interest rate.
Last year, DOJ also opened the Fed Lisa Cook Governor's investigation, with a charge of fraud in home loan records. She denied all the mistakes and filed to prevent Mr Trump's dismissal efforts. The case is being considered by the Supreme Court of America.
