Decree states result goes far beyond sports, deserves nationwide celebration.
"Government cannot ignore huge achievement. Must allow all Paraguayans to celebrate historic day together," Pena emphasized.
Paraguay becomes second South American nation declaring national holiday after World Cup win. Last week, Ecuador President Daniel Noboa declared national holiday after national team beat Germany 2-1 in group stage to reach knockout round.
