Taremi: 'FIFA và Mỹ làm tất cả để loại Iran khỏi World Cup'
MỹĐội trưởng Mehdi Taremi cho rằng FIFA và chủ nhà Mỹ muốn loại Iran khỏi World Cup 2026, còn Chủ tịch Gianni Infantino đã không thực hiện những lời hứa.
"Đây là một kỳ World Cup thảm họa", Taremi nói sau trận hòa Ai Cập 1-1 ở lượt cuối bảng G trên sân Seattle, Mỹ. "Ông Infantino đã đến phòng thay đồ của chúng tôi sau trận ra quân gặp New Zealand và hứa sẽ giải quyết mọi vấn đề, nhưng thực tế chẳng làm gì cả".
Một phóng viên hỏi Taremi rằng "Anh có thấy ban tổ chức World Cup, gồm FIFA và phía chủ nhà Mỹ, muốn Iran bị loại khỏi giải không?". Tiền đạo đội trưởng trả lời: "Chúng tôi phải chiến đấu chống lại gần như tất cả. Đội không thể ở lại Mỹ, phải di chuyển, làm đủ thủ tục nhập cảnh mỗi lần thi đấu. Như hôm nay, chúng tôi không được ở lại Seattle, mà phải bay về Tijuana. Nên theo quan điểm của chúng tôi, đúng là họ đã làm tất cả để loại Iran".

Đội tuyển Iran dự World Cup 2026 với nhiều khó khăn về hậu cần, bắt nguồn từ xung đột với Mỹ và Israel ở quê nhà. Ban đầu, Taremi và đồng đội dự kiến đóng quân tại Tucson, Arizona, Mỹ để tiện thi đấu nhưng bị từ chối. Họ phải chuyển đại bản doanh sang Tijuana, Mexico, sau đó chỉ được phép bay đến Mỹ thi đấu trước một ngày và phải trở lại Tijuana ngay sau trận. 11 thành viên của đoàn Iran bị Mỹ còn từ chối cấp visa, trong đó có Chủ tịch LĐBĐ Mehdi Taj.
"Chúng tôi không có nhân sự hậu cần, vì họ không có visa vào Mỹ. Nên cứ sau mỗi trận, đội lại phải bay về Tijuana. Điều này không đúng, vì đội không có thời gian nghỉ ngơi, hồi phục. FIFA lẽ ra phải xử lý vấn đề, nhưng họ đã chẳng thể làm gì khác ngay từ đầu. Điều này rất không công bằng", Taremi nói thêm.
Bất chấp những khó khăn, trở ngại, Iran vẫn lần lượt hòa New Zealand 2-2, Bỉ 0-0 rồi Ai Cập 1-1. Đây là lần đầu tiên họ bất bại ở vòng bảng qua 7 lần dự VCK World Cup. Với 3 điểm cùng hiệu số 0, Iran cán đích thứ ba bảng G, đứng thứ sáu trong bảng thứ bậc đội xếp thứ ba có thành tích tốt.
Để đi tiếp, Iran cần chờ ba kết quả không xảy ra cùng lúc. Đầu tiên là Algeria hòa Áo ở bảng J, CHDC Congo thắng Uzbekistan ở bảng K và Croatia giành điểm trước Ghana ở bảng L. Nếu các điều kiện này được đáp ứng, Iran sẽ lần đầu tiên vượt qua vòng bảng World Cup.
HLV Amir Ghalenoei cũng chỉ trích cách chủ nhà Mỹ đối xử bất công với đội bóng của ông. Các quyền lợi trong việc tham dự World Cup bị tước đoạt đã làm ảnh hưởng đến thể chất lẫn tinh thần các cầu thủ.
